Before you delete

Write down the recovery phrase for every wallet you want to keep. Deleting your account deletes your encrypted backups. After that, only your recovery phrase can restore your wallets.
Your crypto is not deleted. It stays at your addresses on the blockchain, and you can reach it with your recovery phrase in Kantan or any compatible wallet.
Deleting your account can’t be undone.

Delete in the app

Open Kantan Wallet and go to Settings.
Tap Delete account at the bottom.
Check what will be deleted, then tap Delete account.
Confirm, and verify with Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode.

Your account is deleted right away. Copies in our backup systems are removed within 30 days.

Delete without the app

If you can’t use the app, email privacy@kantan-wallet.com with the subject “Delete my account”.

Send it from the email address linked to your Kantan account. If you signed in with Apple and chose “Hide My Email”, send it from the email address you use with that Apple Account, and we will match it through Apple’s relay.
We may ask you to confirm the request to make sure it comes from you. We will never ask for your recovery phrase, private key or passcode.
We will delete your account within 30 days of confirming the request and email you when it is done.

What we delete

Your Kantan account, including the account identifier from Apple or Google and your email address
Encrypted wallet backups
Your address book
Push notification tokens, the addresses we watch for notifications, and your notification settings
Your points, invite code and referral records
Help chat conversations stored on our servers

What we keep, and for how long

A minimal fraud-prevention record that a device or invite code has already been used, for up to 24 months.
Server logs with IP addresses, for up to 30 days from when they were created.
Crash reports, for up to 90 days from when they were created.
Emails with us, for up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
Anything we must keep longer to comply with the law or to deal with a legal claim.

Transactions on public blockchains can’t be deleted by anyone, including us. Data stored on your phone, such as your wallets, is removed when you delete the app.

Delete some data and keep your account

Address book: delete any entry in Settings › Address book.
Notifications: turn them off in Settings › Notifications, or in your phone’s settings.
Backups of imported wallets: choose to keep a wallet on this device only.
Anything else: email privacy@kantan-wallet.com and tell us what you want deleted.
